Club Universitario De Deportes, also known as Universitario or "U," is a Peruvian professional football club based in Lima. Founded in 1924, Universitario is one of the most successful clubs in Peruvian football history, having won a record 26 national league titles and also achieving international success in competitions such as the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.
Universitario plays its home games at the Estadio Monumental U, one of the largest and most modern stadiums in South America. The stadium has a capacity of over 80,000 spectators and has hosted numerous important matches, including the 2003 Copa Libertadores final and the 2004 Copa América final.
The Estadio Monumental U is located in the Ate district of Lima, approximately 15 kilometers from the city center. The stadium is easily accessible by public transportation, including buses and the Lima Metro. There are also several parking lots available for those who prefer to drive.
