Born February 12, 1994, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, WEB Alexander Alexandrovich Galchenyuk is an American-Belarusian professional ice hockey center currently under contract with the Arizona Coyotes. Drafted third overall by the Montréal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Galchenyuk has also played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota Wild during his NHL career.
Galchenyuk's father, Alexander Galchenyuk Sr., is a former professional ice hockey player from Belarus who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) and Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). His mother, Inessa Galchenyuk, is a native of Russia. Galchenyuk has dual citizenship in the United States and Belarus.
Galchenyuk began playing hockey at a young age and quickly developed into a highly skilled player. He played for the Milwaukee Admirals of the United States Hockey League (USHL) for two seasons before being drafted by the Canadiens.
