Roma in talks with Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels and Ivan Jurić

Hummels seeking Serie A return, Jurić identified as potential Mourinho replacement

AS Roma are reportedly in talks with Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels and Hellas Verona manager Ivan Jurić as they look to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.

Hummels, 33, is a veteran defender with over 70 caps for Germany. He has been with Dortmund since 2019, but is said to be keen on a return to Serie A, where he previously played for Bayern Munich.

Roma are also said to be interested in Jurić, who has impressed in his two seasons at Verona. The Croatian manager has guided the club to two top-half finishes in Serie A, and is seen as a potential replacement for José Mourinho, who is expected to leave at the end of the season.

Hummels' contract with Dortmund expires in 2023, and he is said to be available for a fee of around €20 million. Roma are also said to be willing to offer him a three-year contract worth €5 million per season.

Jurić's contract with Verona expires in 2024, and he is said to be available for a fee of around €10 million. Roma are said to be willing to offer him a four-year contract worth €3 million per season.

If Roma are able to sign Hummels and Jurić, it would be a major coup for the club. Hummels would provide much-needed experience and quality to the defense, while Jurić would be a welcome addition to the coaching staff.
